SCOTTISH AREA
National Operatic and Dramatic Association
Founded in 1899, it has a membership of
some 2,300 amateur societies and 2,500 individual members. NODA
aims to give a shared voice to the amateur sector, help amateur
societies and individuals achieve the highest standards of best
practice and performance.
DOWNFIELD
MUSICAL SOCIETY
DMS was formed in 1928,
the Society has been to the forefront of producing "firsts"
in the city including "Grease","Jesus Christ Superstar",
"Underneath the Arches", "Hans Anderson",
the Broadway version of "Pirates of Penzance", "The
Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", "Godspell",
"Windy City", "Barnum", "Chess",
"Me and My Girl", "Return to the Forbidden Planet".This
added to 8 years of entertaining over 35,000 SAGA tourists to
Tayside, and presenting many cabaret performances, in Gleneagles,
Coylumbridge, Dunblane Hydro, Creiff Hydro, and Peebles Hydro
Hotels, makes the Society one of the busiest in Scotland.

Scottish Community Drama Association
Formed in 1926, the association binds together
amateur societies and individuals throughout the country and
offers them advice, encouragement and practical help in the furtherance
of their aims.
ACT IV...The Charities
Fund-raising Comedy Theatre Company. Dundee.
Act IV aims to perform comedy plays / farces
to suit all audiences, proceeds are donated to charity [total
raised to date over £200,000]. Two plays per year [May
and November], each performance on behalf of a local or national
charity.
Charities with well established committees
are invited to ask for details of fund-raising by Act IV. In
